The program is available at three times or possibilities: a brunch on February 13th in anticipation of the most romantic day of the year; a package that includes accommodation, available from the 11th to the 14th or the 18th to the 20th of February and a dinner at Glass Terrace restaurant on the 14th of February.
The concept to celebrate the most romantic time of the year dates back to the 1999 film, "Notting Hill," which tells the story of the unlikely romance between reserved bookseller William Thacker (Hugh Grant) and Hollywood film icon Anna Scott. (Julia Roberts). Inspired by this award-winning film, Sheraton Cascais Resort will offer an offer that proposes a journey through time, based on something that never changes, whatever the season: love.
London's Notting Hill neighborhood will serve as the backdrop for the February 13 Brunch, served on Glass Terrace between 12:00 AM and 3:30 PM. On this day, a mini-market will be recreated, inspired by the Portobello Market, where one of the main characters passed in some of the scenes, offering the possibility to couples to buy fresh vegetables, fruits and edible flowers from Joia do Campo.
The Brunch menu will feature a selection of breads and vinoiseries, cheeses and sausages; butters and jams; pancakes, bacon, mushrooms and scrambled eggs. There will also be other delicacies available at street food, a very typical Notting Hill concept, such as: mini hamburgers with onion compote and brie cheese; traditional mini hot dogs and breaded shrimp; fish and chips; snacks and assorted wraps; mini roast beef sandwich and horseradish sauce; chicken wings with barbecue sauce; hummus and spice dips.
The brunch also includes a set of desserts and is valid for €38/adult with drinks included and €19/child from 4 to 12 years old. Children up to 3 years old do not pay.
For couples who want to (re)live the movie together, there is also an offer with accommodation, which includes one night in a double room with breakfast; a romantic welcome kit (sparkling wine and macarons); a voucher for two books to use at the iconic Déjà Lu bookshop in Cascais; a dinner served in the room to the sound of the movie playlist and a romantic movie will also be available for couples to watch in the room, with popcorn. This offer is valid from €190 per couple.
The dinner menu will be available between the 11th and 14th or 18th and 20th of February and will be served between 07:00 PM and 10:30 PM on Glass Terrace. This meal will be inspired by four scenes from the film, accompanying four gastronomic moments.
The menu starts with an amuse bouche (salmon tataki; trout roe and wasabi), which corresponds to the “Friends Dinner” scene; the starters are inspired by the “Rosmead Gardens” scene and include a Cream of peas; shrimp, egg of quail and crispy celery; the main course will recreate the “Dinner for Two” scene and couples will be able to choose the option of fish (Corvina, sweet potato, carrots, clams and dill sauce) or meat (Beef loin, parsnip puree, boletus and port wine sauce.) The dessert (vanilla, raspberry and pistachio parfait) goes back to the scene of the "Wedding William and Anna".
The Valentine's dinner, without accommodation, is available for €100/couple, with a bottle of red, white or sparkling wine, of your choice in Glass Terrace restaurant's wine cellar.
Reservations for any of the programs can be made on the website.
